Highlights of the Wallace Collection,
We were
most fortunate to have the professional service of a superb guide to
explain to us in such enlightening detail with apt and charming humour
the story of some of the numerous paintings - particularly Madame de
Pompadour (Francois Boucher), Titus (Rembrandt) and several Dutch
paintings.
Lunch was enjoyed in the most tastefully furnished conservatory
restaurant and then there was free time to view the Damien Hirst
collection of his new paintings and other parts of the huge Wallace
collection.
The beautiful home of the treasures on display and the friendly welcoming
atmosphere made for a hugely enjoyable visit.

Hirst, including two triptychs, showing in the UK for the first

are "deeply connected with the past."
They are displayed in a classical environment and the
redecoration of the two galleries was funded by Hirst himself.
